The link I have embedded has some of the most authentic history and anything related to Native Americans. You should check it out for more info.Jennahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00563840019983583817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089606950704876439.post-27727110317214692582011-11-02T16:55:09.237-04:002011-11-02T16:55:09.237-04:00Thank you for the additonal information Debbie. It takes me many hours of research for one blog post; it is impossible for me to add everything.

My assumption is that a teller who is interested in further information would continue with their own research. Since there are thousands of sites in cyber space my intention is to offer a taste and hopefully help teachers and tellers along the way.

I concur with your comment re:sourcing. It is my hope of course that tellers will of course site source and attribution after doing additional research.

KarenKaren Chacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12419511205674143737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089606950704876439.post-47996743012174943242011-11-02T16:44:13.066-04:002011-11-02T16:44:13.066-04:00Simon----yes, Joe has some terrific books. I've got it on my pile of must-reads right now.

From what I've been able to see, most of the links on this page don't take us to Native writers like Joe.

It would be helpful to storytellers to read (or re-read) Betsy Hearne's articles "Cite the Source" and "Respect the Source" when looking at sources like those in the provided links.Debbie Reesehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14972409006633565859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4089606950704876439.post-224390420527698962011-11-01T20:32:02.667-04:002011-11-01T20:32:02.667-04:00Thank you. Also, Joseph Bruchac has many great books which cover the history and culture of the Native American peoples told from their point of view. His is a collector of primary source material. I have not read a bad book by Bruchac and they range from picture book to teen reads which are great for adults too.
Simon Brooks, storyteller
www.diamondscree.comWorldofStorieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03010484326191796221noreply@blogger.com
